Sash Window Restoration

Full Sash Window Restoration – Stonnington

This sash window was completely non‑functional when I arrived. I removed the trim and top sash, restrung both counterweights, stripped the painted‑over hardware, scraped back six layers of old paint, fully sanded the frame, and repainted using a three‑coat system (primer + two coats of semi‑gloss aqua enamel).

After reinstalling the hardware with no paint on it and waxing the sliding surfaces, the window now opens smoothly with one hand — even in hot weather.
